David Miguel a.k.a. ‘Da Janitor’

Spotlight on this month’s urban missionary David Miguel a.k.a. ‘Da Janitor’

Da Janitor has been serving with the City Takers team for over 2 years. He is a husband and father of 4, who has also taken in his nieces and nephew, making his family a total of 9! He is passionate about urban missions and involves his entire family in outreach events. Da Janitor has been a pillar in the homeless ministry at Safehouse by leading the services for the homeless. You will see his family in the kitchen helping to prepare the meals that are served. Da Janitor is also a City Takers’ radio personality on Victory 91.5 FM. Da Janitor brings to the show “realness” and humor combined with sincere compassion while being relational. When Da Janitor is not sweeping the streets for souls, you will find him working maintenance in a rental community. While being responsible to his family and his job, Da Janitor is faithful and committed to missions on a large scale as he is the point of contact for all outreach including jails, prisons and street outreach events. When asked why he feels compelled to show love to the homeless, the hopeless and the lost, he quotes Matthew 25:31-46 as his favorite verse and mission statement. It partly reads “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ You can follow Da Janitor on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @dajanitor
