Hey Friends and Family!
As you may or may not know, I’ve decided to take a leap of faith by transitioning into full time ministry and urban missions work. I’ve been connected with an amazing organization called City Takers in Atlanta whose mission is “RAISING UP URBAN MISSIONARIES THAT TRANSFORM CITIES THROUGH HIP HOP, LOVE AND JESUS.” If you know me, you know that I have a passion for reaching those who our society would consider the “least of these”, the poor, marginalized and the lost with the love of Christ and using music as a tool to do so and this is exactly what City Takers is about. Some of our programs at City Takers include weekly food distribution in our community, monthly services and meals for people living on the streets, prison ministry, youth mentoring programs including a music production program, a clothing line program and an open gym program, concerts, block parties, a radio show and a weekly Sunday church service.
My Role
I have had the opportunity to serve in the Outreach/Events at City Takers for 5 years now with the Homeless outreach, neighborhood block parties outreach, and weekly radio show. My role is serving outreach events in the community, developing leaders in the areas we impact with organizing volunteers, connecting with families in different neighborhoods , leading missions teams and serving however I am needed.
This position has been rewarding beyond words for me and has given me a sense of fulfillment for my calling! Since I’ve been with City Takers, I have seen thousands of people’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs met through programs I have been leading.
