We #LoveACity by having a consistent presence in the streets, jails, shelters and urban communities of our cities, passionately meeting needs and bringing a message of hope.
BEING PRESENT IN OUR COMMUNITY
How can we serve our neighborhood and neighbors if we never go out into it or meet the people around us? We love meeting people, hearing their stories and engaging in meaningful conversations that instill hope. We need to launder the linens from our dorms a couple times a month and have decided to do so at the local neighborhood laundromat. While doing the ministry’s laundry we get to interact with our community and bless individuals by paying for their machine and/or offering detergent. On occasion it has also been helpful to help the elderly and moms with children fold and carry loads to their cars or carts outside. With our church plant just down the street it has also been a great way to meet and invite new people!
LAUNDROMAT NEEDS
Volunteers
We need volunteers to help wash, dry and fold laundry as well as engage in conversation with others in the neighborhood.
Detergent
Powder or liquid laundry detergent, Bleach, Softener sheets.
Monetary donations
We pay for around 25 people’s machines during a typical laundry day. Machines range from $2-7.
Prayer
We want to be the light in our communities. Help us pray for grace and favor as we seek to impact our mission field.
