JAIL • PRISON • YDC

We #LoveACity by having a consistent presence in the streets, jails, shelters and urban communities of our cities, passionately meeting needs and bringing a message of hope.

BRINGING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS

In partnership with wardens and chaplains, City Takers equips and sends missionaries behind bars to meet practical needs and bring hope and encouragement to many who have lost hope and are forgotten. The Gospel is transformative! We are currently hosting a hip-hop service at Clayton County Transitional Prison every first Sunday of the month from 6:30p - 8:30p. We also host a bi-annual Family Day in June and October.  All other YDC, jail and state prison events are scheduled quarterly as facilities request and allow.

JAIL & PRISON NEEDS

Volunteers

In need of compassionate individuals who can serve consistently once a month and who will complete background check and volunteer training through the State.  Criteria changes often and paperwork needs to be updated upon request. We facilitate procedure and paperwork.

Christmas Cards

We give each inmate (3) Christmas cards every year for them to send to family members. Communication and constant contact is important for inmates transitioning out of prison for them to be able to continue relationships and receive support.

Practical Needs

Bibles, Deodorant (no gel), Bar soap, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, White socks, Toilet paper, Notebooks (not spiral), Pens, Coats/jackets (no hoods)

Prayer

Inmates write their prayer needs every month for our team to pray over.  We also need continuous prayer for grace at the facilities we serve and over the events we host.
