MONTHLY OUTREACH
CHURCH ON THE STREET
Greater Atlanta has over 7,000 people living on the streets. We call many of them our friends. For over 10 years we have had a heart for this marginalized group and serve their needs at various levels.
JAIL / PRISON MINISTRY
City Takers equips and sends missionaries behind bars to meet practical needs and bring hope and encouragement to many who have lost hope and are forgotten.
IMPACT CLUBS
Taking a mentoring approach and incorporating the arts, City Takers meet with students weekly on campus to discuss personal responsibility, life skills, identity and purpose.
SENIOR / ELDERLY OUTREACH
Visits, bingo, parties and bible studies keep us engaged with a part of our community that many times is overlooked. Working in an income-based facility for seniors we host events and meet practical needs for our senior friends.
LAUNDROMAT OUTREACH
How can we serve our neighborhood and neighbors if we never go out into it or meet the people around us? We love meeting people, hearing their stories and engaging in meaningful conversations that instill hope.
FRESH FOOD FRIDAYS
Every Friday at 5pm we go into our neighborhood with groceries for families that live in a food desert. “Food deserts” are geographic areas where access to affordable, healthy food is limited or nonexistent because grocery stores are too far away or expensive. We value giving fresh, healthy food to our neighbors. Accessibility leads to familiarity which leads to impact on habits and culture.
ANNUAL OUTREACH
SOCKTOBER
In our time working with the homeless of our city we have identified socks as being a big need and want for those who live on the street.
WARM ATLANTA
Once a year during the winter season City Takers gives out blankets, jackets, sweaters, scarves, hats and socks to the homeless in downtown Atlanta. These items are collected throughout the year to be given out during the coldest time of winter.
BACK TO SCHOOL
Join us for a fun event to help children of all ages prepare to go BACK TO SCHOOL! FREE backpacks and school supplies are being given. If you’re interested in helping providing school supplies, pleas click the buttons and get more information.
CHRISTMAS REMIXED
This event brings people together from all over the city, from all different backgrounds to celebrate Christmas together. For many in attendance, it will be the only Christmas party they are invited to and attend.
